Local, Family Owned

Vintage LSS

Little Short Stop was formed in 1967 by Paul Arnold, an operator of a tobacco wholesale company who took over 4 convenience store locations in Kitchener, as payment for a debt from one of his customers. The company expanded to Guelph in 1972 and by 1974 had grown into Cambridge. Today the store is owned by Jamie and Mike Arnold, sons of the founder.  We now have 28 locations with Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, New Hamburg and Ayr.

Our company philosophy is to serve the community in which it resides, by providing Exceptional Service, Fair Pricing, and a Quality Product Selection. This philosophy is embodied in its company mascot, See-more Savings.

About Us: Discover the heart of Little Short Stop, a family-owned gem since 1967. Founded by Paul Arnold, our roots run deep in community service. What started as a settlement of debt with four Kitchener convenience stores has flourished into 28 thriving locations across Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, New Hamburg, and Ayr.

Family-Owned Legacy: Today, the torch is carried by Jamie and Mike Arnold, sons of our visionary founder. Our commitment extends beyond commerce; it’s a commitment to the very communities we call home. We’re not just a business; we’re a family deeply invested in the well-being of our neighbors.

Small-Town Warmth: Step into any of our stores, and you’ll instantly feel the warmth of a small-town welcome. It’s more than a transaction; it’s a personal connection. In our stores, everyone is more than a customer — they’re part of our extended family. Picture walking into a space where familiarity reigns, and names are more than just words; they’re a testament to the bonds we’ve built over the years.

Community-Focused Values: At Little Short Stop, community isn’t just a buzzword; it’s our guiding principle. We actively participate in the fabric of our neighborhoods, embodying the spirit of a small-town store where everyone knows everyone by name. Our commitment to community involvement is a testament to our belief that a thriving business is intertwined with the well-being of the people it serves.

In every visit, experience the warmth of a family-owned legacy and the genuine embrace of a small-town store where your name is not just remembered but cherished. Welcome to the heart of Little Short Stop – where community and family are at the core of everything we do.
